«Choquer l’intime» c’est ainsi que Laurence Gossart titrait la préface de Double Séjour Volume 011. Ce premier cycle d’expositions chez moi fut une révélation dévastratrice. Elles ont habitées le lieu le temps d’un week-end, si long et si impudique pour notre vie dans l’appartement, si court et si intense face à l’énergie des propositions artistiques déployées. À l’heure de cette nouvelle proposition, le projet artistique et ma vie personnelle continuent de s’entremêler. Comme si, même en dehors du lieu originel, l’intime ne pouvait disparaître. 

Le calendrier maya est de dix-millième de journée plus exact que le nôtre. Pour mesurer le temps, les prêtres mayas utilisaient deux unités, le Tzolkin, cycle sacré de 260 jours et le Haab ou année vague comptant 365 jours. Ces deux calendriers coïncidaient tous les 52 ans (18 980 jours). La fin de ce cycle de 52 ans était particulièrement redoutée parce qu’il s’agissait d’une période où le monde pouvait prendre fin et où le ciel pouvait s’effondrer si les dieux n’étaient pas satisfaits de la façon dont les humains s’étaient acquittés de leurs obligations.

À l’heure de ce changement de cycle émancipateur, le retour aux fondamentaux est instinctif, primitif, sauvage, tel un besoin irrépressible de matière — de couleur. Sans se soucier des accords, de quelque conceptualisation que ce soit, les choix s’imposent. L’envie est là, l’énergie débordante. Prêt à affronter les jugements divins.
