site-specific performance, Saint-Martin, abandoned Paris underground station, Nuit Blanche Paris, 2010

——

Metroscope was a site-specific performance presented  the national yearly event Nuit Blanche 2010, Paris in partnership with Paris City Hall and Paris Metro Public Transport.

The project consisted in transforming a disused Paris underground station into a performing arts stage for three nights. The public was in the metro train as it went by the platform. The movement created the animation with performers standing at regular intervals along the 100 meter platform. The bodies of the performers became letters and the succession of the performers/letters created a word, which could be read by the passengers in the train as it approached. Words were continuously renewed, in pace with the trains.
