« A mental projection of a landscape can also be found in her series ‘Home Grown Garden’ (2016), which actually stands on the floor of the artist’s studio/apartment. A “garden” bringing together elements of the artist’s everyday life (photographs, mirrors, lights, a vivarium, etc.) creates a space into which her body can fit, like a reminiscence of her work on photographs. [...] This piece changes in response to the sunlight moving around the room, to visitors coming to the studio, and gives shape to the exploration of the frontier that is central to Sophie Kitching’s work. »
